Caldwell-Autodynamics D9-B

By the time Caldwell-Autodynamics closed its doors in 1973 it had and still remains the highest volume producer of racing cars in the U.S. Caldwell manufactured over 1,000 car, most of these were Formula Vee’s but approximately 103 were the D9 and D9-B’s.

The D9-B is the First Formula Ford specifically designed and built for American F.F. rules and American track conditions. Most Formula Fords being designed and raced in England, which has a cooler climate, tend to be built with marginal cooling for the hotter U.S. The D9-B also had a very rigid chassis and advanced suspension geometry to cope with the high stresses that came with the use of slick tires.

New this car sold for $4,395.00 direct from the factory.

This particular car has had 4 owners and the current owner is Wes Gibbs of Colorado.
